A Message from our President
August 2025
Dear Villa Park Elementary Parents and Families,
Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! My name is Kathleen Lim-Valle and I am thrilled to be the H&SL President this year! As we embark on a new academic year, let's seize the opportunity to learn, grow, and reach our goals. Each day offers a chance to discover something amazing, work on our goals, and build meaningful connections.
A little bit about myself, I have two girls, Izabelle (Izzie) and Eliza. Izzie attends Villa Park High School and is in Color Guard. Eliza is in 5th grade at VPE. We have been at VPE since Izzie was in kindergarten in 2016 and this will make it my 9th year at VPE.
Before being a stay-at-home mom, I was a preschool teacher then an education director for Head Start (a federal program that provides free preschool for low-income families). I worked for Head Start for 16 years before the school was permanently closed. I have experience in working with a non-profit, leading parent meetings, organizing events, and supporting a team. I look forward to using my experience to guide the H&SL executive/general board while supporting VPE families and staff.
The VPE H&SL is a non-profit parent group that was established back in 1931, and its objective is to maintain the connection between home and school, so that teachers, parents, and staff can work together to provide our students with the best educational experience possible.
I warmly invite you to join H&SL! Your support fuels countless activities at Villa Park Elementary, including art, school events, teacher goals, educational assemblies and campus enhancements. We eagerly anticipate your participation by donating your time and talents at various events throughout the year. Together, we can help students create unforgettable memories for the students and families throughout the school year. I hope to see everyone at our monthly meetings and please feel free to reach out to me if you would like to get involved in H&SL this year. We always have opportunities available to volunteer. Time commitments vary – there’s something for every schedule. Our team is friendly, fun, and supportive. We would love to have you!
I would like to thank the 2025-26 H&SL Executive Board for volunteering their time to help make this year a successful one for VPE students, families and staff.
