A Message from our President

August 2021

Hello & welcome to the 2021-2022 school year!  My name is Kari Christie and I am excited to be the H&SL President for the next two years!  I look forward to hopefully returning to a somewhat normal school year…

I have had 4 Bobcats attend VPE, Jackson who is a senior at VPHS, Carter who is a sophomore at VPHS, Parker who is an eighth grader at CV, and Charlotte who is in 4th grade this year!  Also, I have to mention that I was a Bobcat too, a very long time ago!

I want to start off by encouraging everyone to join the VPE Home & School League.  The VPE H&SL is a nonprofit parent group that was established in 1931, and its objective is to maintain the connection between home and school, so that teachers, parents and staff can work together to give VPE students the best educational experience possible!  We need your participation in this group to provide many opportunities for our students including art and music enrichment, technology updates, campus upgrades, and educational assemblies.  Without your support, none of this would be possible!  The H&SL is completely dependent on contributions and fundraising efforts of our VPE community.

VPE H&SL members will have access to the online school directory, and are invited and highly encouraged to attend monthly meetings on the third Thursday of the month, beginning at 8:15.  During these meetings you will learn about all upcoming activities on our campus and hear from Principal Beggs as well.  The first meeting of the school year will be on September 16th.  Your membership also includes a VPE Bobcats car decal!

I would like to thank the VPE 2021-2022 H&SL Executive Board for volunteering their time to help make this a fantastic year for all of our students- Stefani McMillen, Wendy Wolf, Heather Cassara, Julie Levy, Donna Czekalski, Amy Luciene, Mike Urbanski, Heather Tapia, Shelly Johnson and Erin Flynn!

If you would like to get involved in the VPE community, please don’t hesitate to reach out, we still have many opportunities available.

Please follow Villa Park Elementary on Facebook, @VPEschool on Twitter, and visit vpe-hsl.org to stay updated on everything going on at VPE!

Wishing everyone an enjoyable 2021-2022 school year!

Sincerely,

                             Kari Christie
