Parent Volunteer Info.
If you are planning on volunteering at VPE to help for class parties or any other school hour event, you will need to complete the volunteer application and online training courses via Keenan Safe Schools Training EVERY YEAR. We suggest completing the volunteer process at the beginning of each school year, even if you are only planning on coming once during the year. This will be helpful for VPE Staff knowing which volunteers are approved for the year along with reducing your stress with a last minute scramble of completing the process.
This training must be renewed yearly. You should receive an email when your current training is about to expire.

Steps to becoming an approved parent volunteer:
1. Log in to Keenan Safe Schools Online Training. Links listed below:

2. Complete the following training courses and save the certificate received at course completion:
- Mandated Reporter: Child Abuse and Neglect (CA) Must pass the quiz at the end with an 80% or higher
- OUSD Illness and Injury Prevention Program
3. Complete the OUSD Volunteer Application through Raptor System > click here. A copy of your valid ID and a copy of Keenan SafeSchools training certificates will need to be attached, along with completing some personal information.
4. An email will be received from Raptor Systems indicating your volunteer application has been received and is in the review process. This process can take several days.
5. An email will be received from Raptor Systems with a status update (approved or not).
